Young's Survivor Season Opinions
Survivor S3: Easter Island
To this day, Easter Island is still one of my favourite Survivor seasons, if not my favourite.
An active cast, a great twist, and overall great gameplay. Although there were a few inactives and bumps along the way, it still stands out as a great season. This season featured no Permanent Tribes, meaning contestants picked the tribe every week, up to three tribes per week. There was no limit to how many people had to be on a tribe, but absentees were placed on tribes with less members, or randomly placed if tribes were even. This also meant the tribes would only merge for a week if they wanted to, which they only did in the final two weeks. The season also had a Moai twist, where every eliminated contestant basically picked a number from one to nine, and received either a punishment or gift, which could be used on the remaining contestants. They also had the chance to return to the game, which went to the lucky winner of Neth110, although he was voted out the next time he went to tribal.
This was still a luck twist, and luck is just horrible in Survivor. The season has a lot of stand out players, and many players used to the twists to their full advantage, sometimes purposely going on a tribe with only inactives to be guaranteed immunity. Also ended on a great and deserving winner, which you don't see often anymore. I'd definitely love to use the twist again, although there's no plans to use it any time in the future, sadly. Season Ranking: 1/13.

Winner: Maddysduck, 5-3Maddysduck 100% owned this season from start to finish. She quickly formed a majority alliance with Cato2000 and Phorix, where they often joined the Anakena tribe every week. She also won many Immunities, and controlled every vote she went to, sometimes with the help of luxuries from the Moai twist. She used the twist to her full advantage, making sure her alliance had majority every time the tribes were picked. At one point in the Final Five, she even purposely went on a tribe alone with TrucuIentus, so that if they lost, she could Idol him out by default. However, they won anyways, so her Idol was wasted. Regardless, she maintained dominance the entire season. Once four players remained, Cato2000 turned on her, causing her to target him. Once she finally took out TrucuIentus, she won the Final Immunity and took out Cato2000 for good, bringing Phorix to the end. Her strong gameplay was rightfully rewarded 5-3. Great winner to a great season.

Runner-Up: Phorix, 3-5I honestly don't remember Phorix doing anything remotely interesting this season. He latched onto alliances and wasn't in danger for a majority of the season. He constantly either won Immunity, or was in the majority vote, so he was at least doing something right. The only two moments I can remember where he nearly got out, was when Neth110 left the second time, where he was spared thanks to Maddysduck playing her extra vote, and when he went to a Tiebreaker Challenge against TrucuIentus. However, Maddy played for him, and did so well that Cato2000 sabotaged her and got disqualified, causing TrucuIentus to leave instead. With Maddy's constant protection, he easily made it to the end, and actually caused a close vote, due to Maddy's brash gameplay turning off some of the Jurors, but ultimately lost due to his coasting.
