Young's Survivor Season Opinions
Survivor S12: Barbados
After seven seasons, Survivor finally brings back a Fans vs. Favourites season!... Except only two newbies were cast...
Well, that's a great start. Oh, and neither of them made it past the third tribal. Great progress, guys.
Barbados was essentially a returnees season, considering the amount of love there apparently was for newbies. It also featured a Kidnapping twist, where the winner of reward could kidnap a player from the opposing tribe, giving them safety if the reward winner's tribe won Immunity as well. On the other hand, if the reward winner's tribe lost immunity, the kidnapped player went to tribal with them, giving them a free one-time use idol, and the chance to stir up the game. The reward winner also had the option to mutiny, though nobody ever chose to. While it was certainly not a huge twist by design, I at least hoped it would cause some shake-ups during the tribes phase. Spoiler: It didn't impact the game at all. In fact, the tribes phase was riddled of players going for the easy vote, taking out inactives, people when they didn't show up, or just the most annoying player in the game. It wasn't until the merge anybody attempted to make any moves, when Minty711 idoled out Witchescoven. But it only became ClassicCrusher7 and KettleTheStick's game to control, as they led the charge to take out IIMoonIightII and Coolpokemonfan2001. While a revolt led to ClassicCrusher7 getting the boot, KettleTheStick's dominance in Immunity Challenges meant nobody could vote him out, and anybody he wanted out was voted out from then on. There was also a merge twist, where the Jury members could participate in Immunity Challenges, and if they won, could choose to give it to somebody, but only Eminemxxx won it at Final Four, opting to give KettleTheStick another Immunity. #bigmoves. Unsurprisingly, KettleTheStick won in the end, due to a lack of people willing to change up the game, aside from IIMoonIightII and Minty711. A boring season to start, and disappointing to end. Season ranking: 10/13.

Winner: KettleTheStick, 6-3KettleTheStick is not a likable person. He's loud, cocky, and loves to brag. Every chance he took he had to remind people he was a Denise, and went to every pre-merge tribal. However, during the pre-merge, he was on the verge of quitting, as he was annoyed and tired of losing every challenge, and failing to ever find an Immunity Idol. It wasn't until Curtis_Granderson was booted with an Idol that his spark to win was ignited, though he pretty much did whatever ClassicCrusher7 told him to do. Once he reached the merge, he went on an Immunity Streak, winning every single challenge, minus one where Eminemxxx gave him the win. He was so cocky he wasn't gonna be voted out, he literally gave his first few Immunity Necklaces away to Classic twice, and NeonDev. Once Classic became the obvious target, he had to keep his Immunity, and became alone. Fortunately, he had Bloosonic123 on his side, who was so scared to make a move for himself, he aligned with the biggest threat in the game left. Kettle led the charge to take out Neon and Minty711 afterwards, and then easily defeated Bloo and Peaceskiess in the Final Immunity. Going for the easy win, he took Peace to the end, and won 6-3, as Peace had nothing to say in his defense. While he deserved it over Peace, he wasn't a very deserving or good player overall. Just a challenge beast.

Runner-Up: Peaceskiess, 3-6Peaceskiess is the definition of a floater. He didn't really align with anybody in the season, and just did whatever he felt like doing. He was active, which allowed him to survive the tribes-phase, but after the merge hit, he only targeted IIMoonIightII and Minty711 for being a duo in the minority, while letting KettleTheStick and ClassicCrusher7 pass by unharmed. Despite nearly getting eliminated early in the merge, he survived thanks to Moon forgetting to play his Immunity Idol, and was able to float by the rest of the season. After reaching the Final Three, both of his competitors wanted to take him to the end for being the easiest Jury goat. Ultimately, Kettle won and took Peace to the end. At the Finale, Peace completely blanked out, and failed to give a single reason why the Jury should vote him. While he got a few stray votes thanks to Kettle's unlikability, he ultimately lost 3-6. Never fought to stay, never fought to win.
